Polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHA) are very attractive molecules because of their biodegradability and their industrial benefits. PHA production can be done using mixed microbial cultures, which lowers production costs and environmental impacts. However, these cultures must be enriched in overproducing microorganisms during a selection step. We presented a work aiming to study the parameters of the culture which influence the microbial selection. These parameters are the influence of the nature of the carbon source of the cells and the degree of phosphorus limitation on selection.
